My name is Nanshih Lin. I was born in Taiwan in 1985.
As I remembered, I like to randomly draw things since I was a little kid. Then I further found that I was really interested in colors, shapes, dots and lines; how these components turned out to be visual images. I like to play around with fabrics. I am good at turning second hand clothes into a brand-new unique piece. I wanted to specialize in fashion design. Therefore, I chose Bunka Fashion College instead of regular four years college. In Bunka Fashion College, I was able to learn in-depth about theories and fundamental concepts. This really helped me a lot when I was working on my final project for graduation performance. However, the most valuable things I acquired during three years schooling in Bunka Fashion College was the insiders’ point of views about fashion from professors and designers. Their perspectives inspired me a lot and totally reversed my thinking from different angles.
Fashion is changing all the time. Like a model Heidi Klum said “In fashion, one day you’re in. The next day you’re out,” people need to have keen senses in order to stay on the top in fashion. Therefore, I traveled a lot. By doing so, I was able to assimilate fashion trend and cultural background from different countries. I am currently back in Tokyo, Japan. Since Japan leads fashion trend among Asia, I am in a great position for the latest fashion
